We Believe Part one:

Conservative is a four sylable word that means much more than its been put up to recently. As I said previously its time to talk about what we believe, because its time to take back the Right as a comfortable norm for placement of our party.

Taxes: Taxes are neccesary to run a nation. The lower, the better for the people paying them, and this the economy. It just makes sense doesnt it? If I earn 12 dollars an hour for 80 hours over 2 weeks I'll have a paycheck of? Well that varies doesnt it? If a single person living in Texas got that check they'd go home with $792.75, in Missouri 764.75, New York (assuming a New York City resident) $741.26. Im positive in each of the three cases, the individual could have found better things to do with thier money than the state. The current system of taxation rewards mediocrity and punishes success.

We need a new tax plan to stand behind. A Flat Tax is fair. The Fair Tax would work. The advantage of both is Politicians lose the ability to use the tax code to buy Im opento another plan of similar merit.

Don't Make me come down there!

I wonder sometimes if Ronald Reagan would even recognize what we call Republicans these days. I mean we walk around behind our Hannity’s and Limbaugh’s blowing our conservative trumpets. But then we got lost somehow, now I think we (as a party) look more like a left of center RINO like Nixon (rest his soul).Along with some other things that’s what I will be talking about on this blog by and large, but today lets talk about the Republican Party.
The GOP is on the defensive right now to say the least and I think it deserves it. Not that the individual registered Republican does, but those folks who work for us who think that they can be anything but who they say they are and get away with it. Of COURSE you are going to get hammered if you aren’t above reproach when the press is in your opponent’s pocket. You have to be able to answer the press’s questions in a way that makes them look stupid for having asked at all. I mean COME ON, in a BATHROOM!?
We have sort of gotten used to framing the debate in a way that we are telling the electorate what we are against. This gives our opponent an advantage of being able to: YES! Tell the same people “Well Mr. Smith is against XYZ but I am FOR” see if you tell someone what you are for, then give them a reasoned answer why, it works out better.
We need to get back to conservative principles. FREEDOM. Freedom from government telling you where to send you kids to school. Freedom from taxes. Freedom from the government telling you HOW to raise your kids. Yes, freedom.
And what about this election cycle? President Elect Obama campaigned very successfully on “Change” and “Yes we can”. And Senator John McCain campaigned on what? Can any of you tell me? I mean he had a new most important issue of the week orbiting around a somehow more obscure than Change “Country First”. REALLY? Then McCain seemed to join the Obama campaign putting his meager dollars behind the Obama ticket by campaigning for change too! What a move! NASCAR enthusiasts assure me this is called ‘drafting’ that is getting is behind a faster car in an effort to steal his momentum and perform a “slingshot pass”. Whatever it is he was trying to do, it should be obvious why McCain would have been a horrible choice in 2000. He may be the only Republican besides David Duke who could have lost to Al Gore.
Republicans likely have another embarrassing election coming. Those folks that voted democrat to teach the GOP a lesson, or stayed home… it’s not over.
